5 Ways To Spruce Up Your Home For Under $50
We're not sure if it's the icy weather outside (60 degrees, brrr) or a V-Day-inspired nesting instinct, but lately we've been aching to spruce up our decor. Our home is no longer pulling off that “shabby chic” look -- at this point, it’s just plain shabby. With trade show season recently ending, we figured now was the perfect time to ask our favorite design expert Mat Herman, curator and founder of the site Apt2B, for his top picks of the season. (While Apt2B only ships to those in the LA area, note that locals can get free delivery by entering BGG at checkout!)
Bartlett Conceal L-Shape Shelf, $36 -- this knocks the socks off our shaky old Ikea bookshelf, and we love how it frees up floor space while making our walls look pretty.

Casa Ave Tissue Box in Purple, $5 -- this adorable, house-shaped tissue silhouette takes a traditionally ugly household item (the tissue box) and immediately turns it into a playful design piece.

Black + Blum Modern Dish Rack in Lime, $48 -- drying racks are another item that tend to be an eyesore, but this sculptural, highly functional dish rack is a work of art on its own.

Garfield Fish Condo, $35 -- it's been quite some time since we've had a pet fish, but this amusingly stylish little fishbowl has motivated us to revisit the childhood tradition. Stop by Mark’s Tropical Fish in Studio City for some piscine inspiration.

Skillet Circle Clock, $38 -- made from a real sauté pan, this clock has that kitschy appeal that makes us think fondly of Grandma's kitchen, or our childhood trips to Graceland. Baby, let's play house!
