- Santa Monica
- Silver Lake / Los Feliz
- West Hollywood
Kick off the weekend at the beach by taking a leisurely and complimentary-beverage-riddled stroll around Venice for Abbot Kinney First Fridays. But, don’t linger there too long, because at 7:30 p.m. you’ll want to be in West Hollywood to catch Joy Divison’s bassist Peter Hook as he reads from his new (second) book of memoirs, Unknown Pleasures, at Book Soup.
It’s the last night of dineLA, folks, so if you haven’t already, definitely take advantage of all the awesome deals for dinner in your area. If you’re sticking to the west side for the night, get to Royce Hall after you eat for a performance by Grammy-winning Malian singer and guitarist Vieux Forka Touré, who’s got L.A.’s own Fools Gold opening for him. If you’re looking to spend your night a little farther east, skip the dineLA festivities and join in on the Great Highland Park Taco Crawl, which promises lots of local flavor and a nightcap at The York.
