Party-Ready Hair in 5 Minutes

We wish we had enough time in the day to do something about the disaster zone that is our hair, but alas, we barely have the time to brush our teeth lately.  This makes getting ready for a party (or, for that matter, leaving the house) challenging at times. Hence the immense gratitude we feel for the following speedy hair how-to from celebrity stylist Chris Rios of Sally Hershberger Salon. Get party-ready (or at least, leave-the-house-ready) in just five minutes with Chris' step-by-step instructions on achieving the easiest and chicest hairstyle around, the Messy Bun:

Step 1. Sweep hair up into a ponytail on top of your head using rubber bands that don't snag hair (such as Blax or Goody Ouchless). Use a color that matches your hair color, and make the ponytail as tight as possible so that your messy bun will stand out.
Step 2. With a wide-tooth comb, lightly tease your ponytail and mist it with a styling spray such as Body Fix by Sally Hershberger.
Step 3. Loosely twist your hair and wrap it around the rubber band, aiming for a cotton candy effect.
Step 4. Secure the bun by using hairpins that are the same color as your hair.
Step 5. Mist the bun with a little more spray…and voila -- your hair is party-ready!
