EXCLUSIVE: Discounted Designers & Free Booze
We like drinking, we like shopping and, whenever possible, we like doing both at the same time -- preferably with other tipsy shoppers so we don’t feel as bad about ourselves in the morning.
Where could such consumptive bliss take place, you ask? Why, at the Broke Girl's Guide launch party! Come to Em & Co., one of our favorite LA boutiques, on Wednesday, June 15th, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for the event which includes a 20% discount on all merchandise, complimentary 'Broke Girl' cocktails, a cookie bar from Batch from Scratch and more.
The first 50 people to email rsvp@brokegirlsguide.com will get EXCLUSIVE admission to the party and, yes, there will be gift bags.
Because Broke Girl’s Guide is all about getting you discounts to some of LA’ s best boutiques, we know we may have hit a weak spot; thus, we’ d like to offer you a few tips so you don’t find yourself eating a 59-cent bag of Cheetos (for lunch and dinner) from the gas station for the next six months.
BGG Tip #1: If you're not sure if you should buy something, leave it on hold for 24 hours. If you find yourself still thinking about it, go back and get it. Inversely, if a week passes and you haven't worn a new item, take it back. If it has not left your closet in the first week, it's going to die a slow, lonely death back there.
BGG Tip #2: Don't spend more than $75 on anything that isn't: a) versatile; or b) so special that you feel special in it, even if it can't be worn that often. The latter is especially okay when the item is meant for an event that will be photographed (and Facebooked!).
BGG Tip #3: Try not to spend big money on a piece that's so painfully of-the-moment it'll end up a Halloween costume by next season. That's what H& M, Zara, Urban Outfitters, and F21 are for.
BGG Tip #4: Buy something that works with what you already have. A $50 dress can run you another $150 if you need shoes and jewelry to go with it.
BGG Tip #5: Take the price of something and divide it by the number of times you think you'll wear it this year. If that price comes out under $10, pass go and head directly to the cash register.
We've attached photos of a few items we’re already crushing on. Now imagine them at 20% off! Get in on the goods NOW by RSVP’ing to rsvp@brokegirlsguide.com!
