Show Those Sexy Gams in DIY Denim Cutoffs
If there's one look that never seems to go out of style for summer, it's cutoff jean shorts. The perfect pair, however, can be as rare to find as the perfect man. Luckily, we can DIY our discarded denim jeans into the cutest cutoffs, whereas with men, alterations can be a bit more difficult to make.
We suggest you get together with girlfriends for some cutoffs & cocktails and follow our simple steps to deconstructing your denim:
1. Never throw away a pair of jeans if you savor the wash or fit. Turn the sacred denim you've grown to hate just because of its outdated hemline (a.k.a. bootcuts) into cute cutoffs, but always make sure you still love the fit, especially in the booty as it is visually accentuated the shorter you go.
2. Use all kitchen utensils like shredder, knives -- never just scissors. (Image A)
3. Cut out the pockets. (Image B)
4. When cutting the legs, make sure to cut a little longer in the back if you are even a tad "well-endowed" on your backside. It's even cool when you cut a bit longer on the behind of your pant -- after the side seam -- for a more dramatic look. (Images C & D)
5. Get down and dirty to eff them up! The more oddities, the better to add character. You never want them to look like you (gasp!) bought them that way! (Images E, F, & G)
6. Last, but certainly NOT least, put them in the dryer several times for that extra fray.
7. Voila - perfectly imperfect cutoffs! Now if only we could solve that whole perfect man thing...
