- Silver Lake / Los Feliz

You didn’t go to Wanderlust this weekend because: a) you didn’t want to embarrass mere mortals by openly demonstrating your prowess as a goddess of yoga; b) Lake Tahoe reminds you of that time...on Spring Break...; or, c) you don’t have $450 + to blow on a weekend of ceaseless physical exertion and alcohol deprivation.
Whatever the reason you’re staying local this weekend, we’d like to help you make the most of what little free time you’re afforded each week of your life (cue depressing music - wah, wah).
5 p.m. - If you’re local to Santa Monica or Venice, ride your bike to Library Alehouse and valet it for free. Pop in and sample some of their sour beer offerings as part of what they’ve dubbed SourFest 2011.
Afterward, stick around Main Street to enjoy Last Fridays -- a monthly celebration on Main Street that includes an outdoor movie screening at ZJ Boarding House with an after party at Basement Tavern and a host of discounts.
OR, if you prefer to stay (or go) east --
Try out dinner at Wirsthaus, open this weekend on La Brea, and then make your way to the Iron Fist Shoe Party at Beauty Bar. It starts at 6 p.m., and the first 100 people get free manicures (and martinis).
9 a.m. - If you live on the east side, stop by the Open Market Place, a huge collection of vintage vendors & local designers at 1521 N. Highland Avenue.
11 a.m. - Head (or stay) west and grab Kegs & Eggs at Fig In Santa Monica.
1 p.m. - Stop by and peruse Unique LA, where you’ll find 200+ vendors (clothing, jewelry, bags, beauty, gourmet edibles, paper goods, etc.) & more booze. Tix are $10 and 10% of the proceeds go to Heal the Bay.
2 p.m. - Join in on the Boogie up the Boardwalk (in which case, please send pictures). From there, check out the latest opening at the Craig Krull Gallery at Bergamot Station before posting up at Saturdays Off the 405 at the Getty.
Or, enjoy a Broke Girl’s Day Out in Malibu, ending in dinner at Cafe Habana or drinks at The Sunset.
Start your day with a boozy brunch at Luna Park, Lola’s, or BoHo.
Hit up American Rag and shop the sale section -- 30% off.
Peruse LACMA (and grab a small bite at Ray’s, one of Food Editor Kat Odell’s favorites), find a pool (psst - The London is fairly easy to talk your way into), or go see Crazy Stupid Love at The Grove.
Make a discounted dinner reservation at The Tar Pit, Campanile, Eva, or even Pace via Savored LA.
Will Mohawk Bend be open by Sunday? We don’t know (and, it seems, neither do they) but if it is, we’ll be there with bells on.
